One platform to run the enterprise

McKinsey’s agile transformation practice had a blind spot: the tools didn’t talk to each other. Orchestro set out to be the all-in-one, 10+ features across one dense platform. I led a team of 3 designers on this 0-to-1 build, as the design counterpart to the PO, Head of Product and engineering managers. My biggest contribution wasn’t a feature, it was focus: I helped validate that across the whole feature set, one workflow was both the most painful for users and the highest-gain to fix, the Quarterly Business Review. So we consolidated the dashboard and the app around it and turned an unfocused all-in-one into the best QBR tool. After the UX audits and usability work, Orchestro landed its first enterprise customer, an Australian bank. From there, 5,000+ enterprise users across North America, Europe and Australia adopted it for strategic planning and QBR memos, driving a 10–15x ROI and doubling QBR participation.

This one came straight from a user insight: teams needed a timeline. Coming from Excel, where the roadmap couldn’t be seen this way at all, a visual timeline was a huge unlock for how they planned.

The real ‘why’ here was connecting each initiative to the organizational structure and the IT architecture. Making those links explicit led to a far more deliberate, better-considered organization.

The result is a transparent canvas built to support the QBR process: searchable, filterable, and clear, so the whole picture stays legible and any activity is easy to find.

Over two years of continuous iteration, these pieces hardened into a robust design system, one that later became the foundation for Pantheon, McKinsey’s own design system.
